Public Square

The Lenses Institute for the public square is designed to equip leaders from a broad range of disciplines. We equip leaders from business, academia, the arts, non-profit, sport, medicine, civic services, etc. In the fast-changing world of the 21st century, individuals, communities, and organizations must constantly look for ways to evolve and refine in order to meet the demands of a dynamic and ever-shrinking globe. The world continues to grow in conflict and complexity at the convergence of race, power, culture, and ethnicity. Are we ready?

Our Vision

We see a day when the world’s ethnically and culturally diverse people see, understand, and act in ways that reveal the truth: that we are meant to be together.

Our Mission

We exist to help people fight for togetherness by influencing the way people see, understand, and act in our ethnically and culturally diverse world.

The Lenses Institute for the public square is a 3-5 day intensive development platform that aims to help people fight for togetherness by influencing the way people see, understand, and act in our ethnically and culturally diverse world. Through a mixed-media curriculum, we address the intellect, heart, and hands, with a desired goal that all of our cohort members experience personal, and thus, corporate transformation. At each Institute we enable participants to do the following:

  • See: Race, power, culture, ethnicity from diverse and unique perspectives.

  • Understand: Develop greater appreciation for the role and power of personal context.

  • Act: Combine principle and theory with life experience to facilitate meaningful action.

  • We provide enhanced, real world understanding through practical learning labs combining principles and theories with vital, life experiences.

  • We also consider our own ‘lenses’ or the way we see, understand, and act in our world. These ‘lenses’ are shaped by our own ethnic identity, cultural context, family background, national history, and personal experiences.

  • We consider how these ‘lenses’ shape the way we think about and serve the various people in our homes, our communities, and the world.

Ultimately, the Lenses Institute equips leaders to See, Understand, and Act.
